James Anthony Cassin; Television News Cameraman

James Anthony Cassin, a news cameraman at KTLA-TV for 44 years, has died at his Encino home. He was 62.
Cassin started with KTLA in late 1946 when it was under Paramount Pictures. He shot footage for 27 consecutive hours in 1949 when 3 1/3 -year-old Kathy Fiscus fell into an abandoned well in San Marino, and in 1968 he covered the assassination of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
He also worked as a cameraman on the Lawrence Welk Show in the early 1950s.
Cassin was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Santa Monica. He was found dead June 2. He apparently had lost consciousness and fallen into his swimming pool, said his daughter, Camille Cassin.
Cassin is survived by his wife, Constance; sons, Christopher Cassin of San Diego and Mark Cassin of Encino; daughters, Sherry Cassin and Madeline Cassin of New York, and Camille Cassin of San Diego.
Private memorial services are pending. The Neptune Society is handling arrangements.
