Hesseman Graduates: The class on ABC’s “Head of the Class” can expect a new teacher. Howard Hesseman’s Mr. Moore character will be gone when the sitcom returns as a midseason replacement. A spokeswoman from Warner Bros., the show’s producer, said Wednesday that Hesseman was ready to do other things after four years on the show. Hesseman was not available to comment. Does that mean he’s free to be a part of the first-run syndicated version of “WKRP in Cincinnati” planned for 1991? WKRP’s producer, MTM, has already signed three other original cast members of the series, which aired from 1978-82. But an MTM spokesperson would not comment on whether Hesseman would be involved.
