Losses May Not Be Mythical to Some

Hi, my name is Harry and I’m incensed. The Times gave this guy a mythical $1,000 and he made foolish selections in dead earnest, blew it all, and now he surfaces with this light-hearted, puffy piece (June 7) about how it wasn’t really all that meaningful and now he’s got another $2,000 from another mythical source, so follow along again, please.

Where does he think his followers, or what’s left of them, get their money?

He lost nearly $1,300 ($275 at Santa Anita, $1,000 at Hollywood Park) and he calls it “a streak of bad luck.” I don’t call two winning days out of 31 a streak of bad luck. This from the same man who commented about Unbridled before it won the Kentucky Derby: “Fappiano colt is overrated.”

The Times and this guy have lost all credibility, so this latest episode is pure farce. “If I fail, which I won’t . . . “ This is degenerate talk. He doesn’t belong with the Los Angeles Times. He belongs with Gamblers Anonymous.
