NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue held a hearing on whether the San Francisco 49ers should be penalized for changing their corporate structure. No decision was made.
The purpose of the hearing was to determine if the 49ers’ ownership--which was placed under the umbrella of the DeBartolo Corp. without prior NFL approval--resulted in a competitive advantage.
