American Savings Buys Huntington Federal: Acquisition of the Huntington Beach savings and loan includes two branches and one administrative office. Under the terms of the agreement, Irvine-based American Savings will assume $114.2 million in liabilities and acquire only $112.7 million in assets. The $1.5 million difference represents the price paid by American Savings to the Resolution Trust Corp.
