Escondido
Police are still searching for Stephen Anthony Hawthorne as a suspect in the rape of a 14-year-old Escondido girl at her home Thursday morning.
“The suspect is known, but not in custody at this time,” said Lt. J.R. Wilson of the Escondido Police Department.
Wilson described Hawthorne as white, about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, with stringy, blond, shoulder-length hair and two tattoos--one of a dragon and the other the word Rabbit --on his right arm.
Police are asking anyone who might have seen Hawthorne to call them at 741-4722.
