Share

Kennedy McKinney of Las Vegas, a 1988 Olympic boxing gold medalist, continues his comeback after a one-year layoff when he fights at The Country Club in Reseda on Tuesday night.

McKinney, the gold medalist in the bantamweight division, now fights as a featherweight at 126 pounds. He compiled a 6-0-1 record after the Olympics but then spent a year out of the ring fighting drug addiction. Since his comeback he is 3-0, and he figures to make quick work of his next opponent, Luis Hernandez of Redlands, who will bring a 10-9 record into the scheduled six-round bout.

In a scheduled eight-round bout, heavyweight Kevin Ford (9-1, eight knockouts) of Long Beach is scheduled to fight Dion Burgess (6-3) of Campo, Calif.
