The NFL Players Assn. filed a federal lawsuit in New York against the NFL, the NFL Management Council and NFL Properties, Inc., charging that they have violated federal antitrust laws by preventing the association from continuing to promote its members’ group licensing rights, the NFLPA announced.

The association is seeking a permanent injunction against the defendants, treble damages and punitive damages of at least $10 million for each of the alleged violations.
