Teen Bicyclist Hit By Car, Seriously Injured
A 17-year-old girl was listed in serious condition Saturday after she was struck from behind by a car as she was bicycling south on Brookhurst Street, police said.
Anna Hoffman of Fountain Valley was flown by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange after suffering massive head injuries in the accident, Fountain Valley police Sgt. Patrick Zehner said.
The accident occurred about 4:10 p.m. Friday when a Fountain Valley man exited the San Diego Freeway and attempted to merge with the southbound traffic on Brookhurst Street, Zehner said.
No citation was issued and an investigation is continuing.
