Oldsmobile, Ford Announce Rebates: General Motors Corp.’s Oldsmobile division introduced $1,500 rebates on its 1990-model Eighty-Eight sedans in certain regions until Aug. 2, while Ford Motor Co. extended offers on most light trucks and vans until Aug. 8. Oldsmobile’s program is valid for buyers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, New England, Washington, Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis and Charlotte, N.C. Oldsmobile had a 125-day supply of its Eighty-Eight sedans on hand as of June 20, which is nearly twice the normal level. But Ford took the opportunity to lower some rebate amounts. Ford is offering rebates up to $1,500 on its Bronco and Bronco II models.
