Share

The Bureau of Jewish Education has established a Russian-English 24-hour hot line for callers interested in programs for newly arrived Soviet Jews.

With more than 1,700 new immigrants expected this year, in addition to about 30,000 already here, the bureau is offering scholarships, adult classes, singles and teen groups and other activities.

People interested in volunteering to tutor newly arrived schoolchildren or in making friends with immigrant families can also call the hot line at (213) 653-0158.
