An autopsy has determined that the unidentified woman found Thursday morning in Balboa Park had been strangled, Deputy Coroner Dan Matticks said Friday.
“An autopsy determined it was homicide,” he said. Authorities still do not know the woman’s identity or when she died. The woman, estimated to be from 35 to 40 years old, was found in the archery range in Palm Canyon about 9:15 a.m.
Police said that the woman was probably a transient, and that park officials had told her to leave two days earlier.
