Guilty Pleas in Orange County Fraud Cases: Thomas J. Neavitt Sr., 59, of Brea, pleaded guilty in federal court to mail fraud in the sale of $2 million in bogus oil and gas leases. In a separate case, a former Orange County tax collector, Harold E. Nichols, 60, was convicted by a federal jury of tax fraud related to an alleged gold mine investment scam.
