Molestation Charges Filed Against Davis
Formal charges of child molestation were filed Thursday in Long Beach Municipal Court against Gerald Davis, a veteran supervisor for the county Department of Children’s Services.
Davis, 54, of Long Beach, was charged with 23 counts of lewd and lascivious conduct that allegedly occurred this year with seven children--six boys and one girl--ranging in age from 1 to 9, Deputy Dist. Atty. Scott Carbaugh said. None of the seven alleged victims include children Davis worked with in his county job, but investigation of those cases is continuing, said Carbaugh.
Davis is scheduled to be arraigned Monday. He is being held in Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail, Carbaugh said.
