CSU Reports Sharp Rise in Minority Enrollment
The number of ethnic minorities enrolling in the state university system has risen dramatically in recent years and there has been a steady increase in the hiring of women and minorities as faculty members, CSU studies released Wednesday in Long Beach showed. Between 1984 and 1989, freshmen enrollment increased at CSU campuses by 22.6%, while the increases in enrollments of under-represented minority groups ranged from 21% to 73%, according to one of two reports presented to the CSU Board of Trustees.
