ANAHEIM : Electrician Suffers Burns From Circuit
An electrician sustained first- and second-degree burns in an unoccupied building Thursday after he touched a high-power circuit with live current running through it, fire officials said.
Brian Phillips, 40, of Huntington Beach was airlifted to UCI Medical Center in Orange with burns to his face, arms and chest, hospital spokeswoman Fran Tardiff said. He was listed in good condition.
Two co-workers, who were not identified, suffered minor burns in the accident. Fire officials said a small blaze was touched off by an arc of electricity in a circuit panel. The incident occurred in an area under construction next to the South Coast Water Plant at 4905 E. Hunter St.
