A 20-year-old man who was convicted of murdering a cabdriver in Southeast San Diego was sentenced Friday to 27 years to life in state prison.
Kevin Antone Johnson of San Diego was also given a consecutive sentence of 6 years and 8 months in prison for committing two armed robberies.
A Superior Court jury convicted Johnson of first-degree murder in May for the May 22, 1989, slaying of Michael Carroll, 25, and of robbing two pizza delivery men.
Carroll worked for Coast Cab Company. He was killed while running from Johnson after Johnson pulled a gun on him during a robbery.
