5,000 Yellow Fever Cases Worldwide, WHO Reports

The World Health Organization Friday reported the highest-ever number of yellow fever cases, more than 5,000 worldwide, and said it is reviewing ways of controlling the disease.

Hardest-hit were Nigeria, where 1,497 people died in 1988, and Peru, where 198 deaths were recorded that year.
