Farkas Loses in Quarterfinals
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa —
Corey Farkas of Poway, who three weeks ago won wrestling titles in Greco-Roman and freestyle at the Cadet Nationals (for 15-16 year olds), advanced to the quarterfinals in Greco-Roman competition of the Junior Nationals (for 17-18 year olds) on Monday before losing.
Farkas, 16, a heavyweight, was decisioned by Harley Rosler (Indiana), 7-1, in the quarterfinals, and by Olan Meade (Ohio), 12-4, in a losers’ bracket match.
Farkas will begin freestyle competition Thursday.
