A Jolly Good Time: The Comedy Channel will get some transatlantic laughs when Home Box Office Inc. and the British Broadcasting Corp. join forces to put a home-grown version of the channel on British television. The two groups announced Wednesday they will show eight hours of comedy every week in England, as well as give the U.S. channel access to the BBC’s comedy library. The British version of the Comedy Channel has an initial 13-week commitment and will begin in December.
