Pound Seizure
Until recently I was a passive follower of animal rights. The issue regarding the seizure of pound animals has changed me into a person who must speak up in the hope of stopping this cruel and unnecessary method of obtaining animals.
I know that research will continue, but the selling of pets, mine or possibly yours, is a program that the county and every city must stop.
I am a cancer patient, but the use of pets for research is a method as cruel as the disease itself.
Shelters should provide what their name indicates, “shelter.” Selling these pets to institutions such as UC San Diego School of Medicine for research is inhumane, not only for the pet but for the bereaved owner hoping to find his lost friend.
Only the citizens of San Diego County, by banding together, can stop this process. I am one who is now involved and will continue to be until the end.
