California IN BRIEF : HOLLISTER : Man Held in Theft of Computer Chips

A California man was arrested in Honolulu in the theft of computer microchips worth $321,000, the FBI announced. Bernard Pornaras of Hollister is wanted in Santa Clara County along with two other men for taking the state-of-the-art “Simm Strips” computer chips from a Silicon Valley firm in the Bay Area, the FBI said. The three allegedly planned to sell the 642 chips, worth $500 each, in the Far East, the agency said. Pornaras was jailed pending an appearance before a U.S. magistrate in Honolulu, the FBI said. A second man, Raymond Reynolds, was arrested in California and the third suspect, Michael Arnold, remains at large.
