Blockbuster Entertainment Corp.: The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., video rental firm reported record second-quarter net income of $14.8 million, up substantially from the $8-million profit in the same period a year ago. Revenue almost doubled to a record $267.2 million. The parent of the Blockbuster Video chain credited its continuing expansion for the increase in earnings.
