Glendora : Construction Sparks Dispute
The question of growth led to a sharp exchange at the City Council on Tuesday night, when Councilman David Bodley accused his colleagues of ignoring its effects.
Bodley’s comments were in connection with three projects that the council approved over his opposition: a 14-unit condominium at the southwest corner of Alosta Avenue and Hunters Trail; a 10-unit condominium at 118, 124 and 134 S. Pennsylvania Ave., and a subdivision with 18 single-family homes just west of Drendl School on Galatea Street.
He said the effects on traffic, trash, schools and water should be considered, adding that there is no point in asking people to conserve water if the council then approves more housing, which uses more water.
Mayor Bob Kuhn accused Bodley of posturing for the cable television camera at the council meetings and of wanting to “pull up the drawbridge” and not let anybody else into Glendora.
