3 Burbank Libraries to Close for Book Labeling
All three branches of the Burbank library will be closed between Aug. 20 and 25 to enable staff members to label books with bar codes in an ongoing process to computerize the library’s inventory.
Assistant Library Services Director Sandra Christopher said workers have been unable to catalogue all 340,000 items in the library during regular business hours.
She said the end of August is a good time to close the library because many people are on vacation and school is not in session.
The closure was approved by the City Council at its Tuesday night meeting.
