‘The Boss’ Aquires a Junior Partner: Bruce Is a Dad

ASBURY PARK, N.J. —
It may take a while to know if Bruce Springsteen’s new son was “Born to Run,” but he certainly was “Born in the U.S.A.”
Patti Scialfa, 38, the girlfriend of “The Boss” and a backup singer in band, delivered the 7-pound, 9-ounce boy at an undisclosed California hospital, said Barry Slott, a lawyer for Springsteen. The child is the first for Springsteen, 40. Both parents are New Jersey natives.
Slott said Thursday that the child was born sometime after Tuesday, but he did not know the boy’s name.
