Escondido
Two 8-year-old Escondido boys, believed missing since early Thursday, were still missing Friday, police said.
The boys, Dominic Navarro and Ricardo Sanchez, were last seen when their parents dropped them off for school at Central Elementary. They were not reported missing until the parents returned to pick them up and learned they had not attended class that day, police said.
Police were called at 11 p.m. Thursday, after parents checked with family and friends.
Both boys are Latino, 40 inches tall and weigh 60 pounds. They have black hair and brown eyes.
Navarro was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, a denim jacket and white tennis shoes. He has a scratch on the left side of his face. Sanchez was wearing shorts, a black jacket and tennis shoes, according to police.
Lt. John Wilson said foul play is not believed to be involved.
Police said the boys have run away from home on several occasions. Their parents believe the boys are staying with friends, police said.
