A 27-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds was in critical condition Friday in the intensive care unit at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, police said.

The victim, whom police did not identify, was found about 5:45 a.m. by employees of a paper recycling center in the 2600 block of Oak Street. He was lying on a driveway of the commercial area when the employees discovered him as they arrived for work, said Santa Ana police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas.

Police could not provide details of the shooting incident and did not know what time it occurred or how long the victim had been injured before he was found.
