In a baseball announced today, White Sox slugger Ron Kittle joined the Baltimore Orioles and right-handed outfielder Phil Bradley went to Chicago.

Bradley is in the last year of his contract and is eligible for free agency at the end of the season.

Bradley, hitting .270 with four home runs and 26 RBI, had expressed displeasure at the course of recent contract talks.

Bradley and Kittle, a first baseman, both came to the major leagues in 1983, and Kittle was named rookie of the year.

Bradley played with the Seattle Mariners from 1983 to ’87 and spent one season with the Philadelphia Phillies before joining the Orioles in 1989.

Kittle played with the White Sox until he was traded to the New York Yankees during the 1986 season. He was sent to Cleveland in 1988 and rejoined Chicago as a free agent before the start of last season.

Kittle is batting .245 with 43 RBI and a team-leading 16 home runs. He is fourth on the White Sox all-time home run list.
