A woman was injured Tuesday when a car thief pushed her out of her station wagon and ran over her twice, police said.

The woman’s name and condition were not immediately available, although she reportedly suffered head injuries and a broken left shoulder, Westminster Police Officer Robin Kapp said.

The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. at the corner of Quartz Street and Brooke Avenue when the car driven by the woman’s husband was rear-ended by a stolen Toyota Camry with two men in it, police said.

The husband got out of the 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass to talk to the men and an argument ensued, police said.

The passenger in the Toyota then got out of the car and pointed a small-caliber handgun at the husband. As the husband stood still, the driver of the Toyota got into the Cutlass and drove off with the wife still in the passenger’s seat.

After driving two blocks, the car thief pushed the woman out of the vehicle and ran over her twice, police said.
