New CalArts Dean: Composer David Rosenboom, 42, director of the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College in Oakland, has been named dean of music at CalArts in Valencia. He succeeds Alan Chaplin, who has served as acting dean for the last two years. Rosenboom has previously served on the faculties of the State University of New York at Buffalo, the University of Illinois and York University in Toronto.
