A state appellate court judge from Culver City has been nominated to serve as presiding justice for the 2nd District Court of Appeal, Division 5.
Paul A. Turner, an associate justice for the 2nd District court, was nominated to the post Monday by Gov. George Deukmejian. On the appellate court since last fall, he would replace Campbell Lucas, who plans to retire at the end of the year.
The nomination requires approval by a state judicial commission.
Turner, 42, worked in private law firms before being appointed a Los Angeles Municipal Court judge by Deukmejian in 1983. He was named a Superior Court judge two years later.
He graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 1969 and UCLA Law School in 1972.
