Countywide : Red Cross Says Team Will Go to Mideast
The Ventura County Chapter of the American Red Cross announced Friday that a Red Cross team will accompany military units waiting to be deployed to Saudi Arabia and will help carry emergency messages to military personnel in the Middle East.
However, Red Cross spokeswoman Lenore Gabel said the Red Cross will not be able to contact U.S. civilians trapped in Kuwait.
Gabel said the Red Cross “may provide food, shelter and first aid to non-military Americans returning to the United States.” The local Red Cross number is 643-9928.
