‘Delta Force’ in a Boat: Chuck Norris made good on his self-proclaimed “Assault on the Great Lakes.” The actor who played a tough-guy hero in such films as “Delta Force” and “Good Guys Wear Black” was at the helm as his boat traveled the 605 miles from Chicago to Detroit in 12 hours, 8 minutes, 42 seconds. The time was 25:59 faster than the previous standard, set in 1983 by former President Reagan’s son, Michael. Norris and his three-person crew left Chicago at 8 a.m. EDT Sunday. Six-foot waves on Lake Michigan put him behind schedule, but the 46-foot Drambuie Challenger got into Detroit at 8:08 p.m. EDT.
