HUNTINGTON BEACH : School Trustee Selection Tuesday

After two weeks of interviewing candidates to fill a vacancy on the Huntington Beach Union High School District board, trustees are scheduled today to decide who their new colleague will be.

Board members plan to interview seven finalists from an original field of 16 candidates before appointing a replacement for David Warfield, who resigned in June.

Fourteen of the original candidates showed up for interviews at last week’s board meeting to explain their educational philosophies and why they want to become trustees. Board members will query the remaining candidates on more detailed issues at Tuesday’s meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at district offices.
