Thomas L. Walker; Retired Studio Production Executive

Thomas L. Walker, who was a retired studio production executive and consultant, has died at his home in Woodland Hills. He was 70.

A resident of Woodland Hills for 22 years, Walker died of cancer, said Elizabeth Walker, his wife of 46 years.

Born in New Jersey, he was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He was assigned to the 42nd Infantry, Rainbow Division.

In 1945, Walker began working for Selznick Studios as an administrative assistant to the production executive. He continued with Selznick Studios until 1960, when he began working as production cost estimator and production executive for MGM, later MGM/UA, and ABC Pictures. In 1986, he became semi-retired, but continued as a production executive and consultant through 1988.

He is survived by his wife; daughters Janet Fosdick of Mission Viejo and Betty Graf of Agoura; a brother , Richard Walker of Concord, Calif.; sisters Dorothy Fuller and Doris Lashbrook, both of San Clemente, and five grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at St. Mel’s Catholic Church in Woodland Hills. Arrangements were made by Lorenzen Mortuary in Reseda.

Donations can be made in Walker’s name to the American Cancer Society.
