They Love You, Julia and Tom: American college students have named actors Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts as the top stars of the 1990s in a poll that also placed the mega-hit “Batman” among the worst movies of the 1980s. The Movieline magazine poll of more than 350 college students at 11 universities in 10 states showed distinctive moviegoing tastes. Other female stars included in the Top 10 were Meg Ryan, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Kirstie Alley, Kim Basinger, Bette Midler, Madonna, Alyssa Milano and Kathleen Turner. Following Cruise in the top male star category were River Phoenix, Alec Baldwin, Mel Gibson, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Fred Savage, Keanu Reeves, Christian Slater and John Cusack.
