SHORT TAKES : Video Surprise Prompts Suit

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A mother who thought she was buying a Bugs Bunny cartoon video for her children is suing the store and manufacturer because the tape included sex scenes involving people.
The suit prompted a Superior Court judge Thursday to order Discount City of Ocean Township to remove from its shelves all copies of the tape “Bugs Bunny in Fresh Hare with Elmer Fudd,” which may contain pornographic scenes at the end of the cartoons.
The suit was filed by Doreen Kiprakis on behalf of her children, Demitrius, 4, and Casey and Sophia, both 2. Kiprakis said she put the tape on for the children to watch and did not realize it contained the sex scenes until she replayed it for her children.
She returned the tape to the store and bought another copy, which had the same sex scene.
