Election Issues: S&Ls;, Abortion

Share

Your short, but accurate statement concerning Wilson and the S&L; crisis was right on the money. We all know that Wilson did not accept any “soft” contributions, was not in the Senate at the time of deregulation, and refused, when asked by Charles Keating, to intervene on his behalf.

If, indeed, Feinstein intends to honor her commitment to make this a clean campaign, she had better clean up her act soon. The voters need to hear the candidates’ stand on the issues and compare that to their records. We do not need to be pounded relentlessly with unsubstantiated accusations and innuendoes.
