A Covina man was sentenced Friday to 69 years to life in prison for killing four people, including a 6-year-old girl, when his car crashed into their vehicle in Harbor Gateway while he was under the influence of the drug PCP.
Philip C. Jarmon, 28, was convicted in Long Beach Superior Court in June on four counts of second-degree murder and one count each of possession of PCP and causing death or injury while driving intoxicated.
Prosecutors said that Jarmon ran his car into a van stopped at a red light. The van burst into flames, killing four occupants and injuring two others.
Killed in the crash Aug. 12, 1989, at 190th Street and Normandie Avenue were Ana Maria Perez, 37; Francisco Garavito, 49; Ana Luisa Muralles, 6, and Estuard Perez, 16.
