Lasorda’s Style in Need of a Major Overhaul

Share

Tom Lasorda is so enamored of the big-inning style of play that he has never learned how to play the one-run game, either offensively or defensively. Consequently, the Dodgers are a comfy second-place team, destined to always “Wait till next year.” As if the return of Orel Hershiser will make them pennant winners.

If your team can’t win when your pitcher throws a two-hitter against the league champs, it is time to discard same-way thinking and try another way. Can Lasorda do it?
