Car Rental Outfit Sues GM: Full Service Car Rental System sued General Motors Corp., alleging that it deliberately delayed buying back 612 cars to avoid losing money caused by depreciation. The Superior Court suit alleges that GM agreed to repurchase cars that Full Service Car Rental bought from it, as long as they had fewer than 30,000 miles or were in service no more than 15 months. The suit says GM knew that it would lose money on the repurchase because the cars’ value had declined, so it breached the 1986 agreement by delaying the repurchase until the cars no longer qualified for the buyback.
