Peace Symbol

It’s ironic that as the years pass Dec. 7 is hardly mentioned. Except for the remaining veterans who fought so valiantly for this country, Pearl Harbor is all but forgotten while attention increases yearly on the bombing of Hiroshima.
For whatever misunderstanding that prevented Mayor Tom Bradley from placing the flame (“Eternal Flame for Peace Still Waiting for a Home,” Part B, Aug. 6), I am grateful--may they never find a space for it! Is there an eternal flame burning in Hiroshima for Pearl Harbor?
Yes, the war was terrible but we didn’t start it and it is folly to think Japan wouldn’t have dropped the bomb first had they had the opportunity.
