2 Die as Motorcycle Slips Out of Control, Crashes

LA HABRA — Two people were killed in La Habra early Sunday when a motorcycle slid out of control and crashed in the intersection of Beach and Whittier boulevards, police reported.
Robert Redmon, 21, of Rowland Heights and Yvonne Chavez, 25, of La Habra were fatally injured about 2:30 a.m. while going north on Beach, which terminates at Whittier.
Police said Redmon, who was driving, apparently tried to lay his motorcycle down on the pavement to avoid colliding head on with dead-end barriers set up where Beach turns into Whittier.
