World IN BRIEF : CANADA : Indian Blockade on Trains Halted

From Times staff and Wire reports

The Canadian National Railway resumed freight operations between Toronto and Winnipeg when Ojibwa Indians agreed to remove their blockade of the rail line in Ontario Province. Railway spokesman Roger Cameron said Ojibwa bands at Longlac and Pic Mobert had agreed to comply with a court injunction. The Long Lake band wants its one-square-mile reserve at Longlac expanded, and the Pic Mobert group seeks improved living conditions.
