HELPING HAND: Los Angeles rocker Don Henley, in the news for efforts to preserve Walden Woods, the Massachusetts land that inspired philosopher Henry David Thoreau, has also been active in Orange County. The 42-year-old Eagles founder this May gave $2,500 to the Irvine Conservancy, a 300-member environmental group. Conservancy Vice President Adair Small says she was pleased with the contribution, but that until his gift, she had never heard of Henley. “I had to do a lot of asking around” to find out who he was.
