Temple City : Building Limits Continue

Share

City limits on new apartment and condominium construction will continue until next year, but will be less restrictive, the City Council decided Tuesday.

The council voted to extend the moratorium, passed last month, until July 17, 1991.

The modified moratorium, which applies to multiunit residential zones, eliminates an earlier requirement that second stories be set back further from the street than first stories; increases the permitted square footage of second stories from 75% of the first story to 85%, and reduces the minimum amount of landscaping from 800 square feet per dwelling unit to 500 square feet per unit.

Meanwhile, city staff members are preparing to recommend a permanent code change.
