San Diego
U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested 18 illegal immigrants, all transsexuals and transvestites, who were involved in a smuggling and prostitution ring, a spokesman said Friday.
The group helped transport transsexuals and transvestites into the United States, where they worked as prostitutes, according to Ted Swofford, a public information officer for the Border Patrol.
The suspects were arrested at two houses in Southeast San Diego and at a motel in East San Diego, Swofford said.
More arrests are expected, Swofford said.
