SHORT TAKES : Nilsson Enters Not Guilty Plea

Singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson, 49, a Grammy Award winner for penning the theme song to “Midnight Cowboy,” pleaded not guilty in Beverly Hills today to drunken driving charges.
Nilsson, arrested in the early-morning hours of July 6 while driving his Mercedes-Benz with two passengers on Palm Drive north of Santa Monica Boulevard, is free on his own recognizance. He was not in court for the arraignment but was represented by an attorney who entered the plea.
