James P. Carmany has been named president and chief executive of Comprehensive Care Corp. by a new board of directors that recently won control of the firm in a proxy fight. Carmany, of Laguna Niguel, was a former vice president of the chemical dependency treatment firm and a leader of the dissident group that won the proxy battle. He has promised to improve the finances of the company, which lost $61.2 million for its fiscal year ended May 31. CompCare also named Donald G. Simpson, also a former CompCare officer, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
